All of us at Eco-Alianza wish to mention those whose support makes possible this meaningful GALA event, next Saturday, November 9, in celebration of Eco-Alianza's 17th Anniversary.

The 2024 Global Conference on Water and Climate, organized by the Waterkeeper Alliance, was held in the city of Milwaukee this October. More than 250 Waterkeeper groups from 19 countries gathered for four days of transformative learning, collaboration, and examination of the critical intersection of water and climate issues.

Saturday, November 9, is Eco-Alianza's 17th Birthday! and we are thrilled to invite you to join us to celebrate our commitment to the Loreto Community in partnership with Hotel La Mision. This grand annual GALA event is not just a celebration but also a significant fundraiser to support our ongoing efforts in protecting and conserving our precious natural and cultural environment.

World Sea Turtle Day was celebrated in Loreto with the 1st Forum on Sea Turtle Conservation Outreach on June 21st, with a collaboration between Eco-Alianza de Loreto, UABCS Campus Loreto, the Loreto City Council, and the Regional Center for Normal Education. Sea turtles are fundamental species for marine ecosystems, and their conservation is crucial to ensure the health and diversity of our oceans, as well as the well-being of communities dependent on them. Despite their importance, these species remain vulnerable and are protected under different risk categories.

Education is a core value of Eco-Alianza. By providing youth with an experiential and intellectual understanding of the value of our Loreto environment, we have implemented a foundation for generations of safeguarding and protection. This March, we participated in the “Kid Wind Challenge.” This hands-on design challenge engages student teams that design, construct and test small scale wind turbines and solar structures at events all over the world. Four of our high-school students earned top honors for their wind energy generator prototype, securing a coveted spot in the upcoming world competition in Minnesota, USA this May.

A warm welcome to 2024 from all of us at Eco-Alianza. As the new year stretches out before us, we make a resolution to continue to do our best for Loreto, and more. We also take a moment to look back on the past year with heart-felt gratitude for all that our Donors have made possible.
