Coming soon!
Saturday, November 9, is Eco-Alianza’s 17th Birthday! and we are thrilled to invite you to join us to celebrate our commitment to the Loreto Community in partnership with Hotel La Mision. This grand annual GALA event is not just a celebration but also a significant fundraiser to support our ongoing efforts in protecting and conserving our precious natural and cultural environment.
We cannot do this alone. Through the years, Eco-Alianza has worked to conserve our marine ecosystems through our Sister Park and Sister Reserve international projects enhancing cultural exchange and strengthening the social fabric in the Loreto Community. We have enabled expansion of environmental research, improved resource management, and increased public outreach across international borders.
Eco-Alianza has inspired bi-national conservation, education, social entreprepreneurship and cultural exchange between citizens and government. We have expanded our global network through collaboration with other NGO’s through environmental education and Sea Turtle programs.
A healthy, well-educated and economically stable community of Loreto is a key factor in achieving long-term sustainability in the region.
Environmental Education has been at the core of Eco-Alianza’s programs since our inception, and continues to be at the heart of everything we do. We believe that educating youth in the values and processes required to care for our ecosystems to insure a healthier future for us all.
Our educational programs focus on the activities that create community awareness of the need to protect marine species, insure water quality – both on land and in the sea – and reduce waste and pollution. We utilize a hands-on approach, engaging students in scientific experiments, renewable energy projects, and artistic expression.
This past summer, we provided 40 students with a space for active and creative learning in a wide range of subject matter. Marine sciences, earth sciences, the land, sea, and the sky! They demonstrated a high level of commitment, consolidated their knowledge and developed new skill sets. Our projects encouraged their curiosity, promoted innovative thinking, and provided them the opportunities to develop potential solutions to environmental concerns facing our community. They were able to consolidate their discoveries and ideas through the creation of their own educational materials, brochures and video presentations that further expanded the reach of their learning.
We look forward to expanding our educational programs, and continue to focus on the creation of citizen scientists via our fall learning opportunities and programs.
