Working hand in hand with our community, partners, and collaborators, we have continued our mission to protect Loreto’s natural environment while strengthening citizen participation in conservation. Thanks to your trust and generous support, we transformed shared values into meaningful action across citizen science, environmental education, marine conservation, and inter-institutional collaboration.

This year, we conducted 37 monitoring trips to 12 beaches in Bahía de Loreto National Park, analyzing 186 water samples in the Eco-Alianza laboratory. These efforts provided timely, reliable information on beach water quality and recreational safety, helping protect both public health and marine ecosystems. We also led six coastal cleanup campaigns across beaches and islands in the park, including the Mega State Cleanup and Minga 2025. With the support of volunteers, schools, municipal authorities, and Bahía de Loreto National Park, we removed more than 1,000 kilograms of waste from coastlines and wetlands—preventing it from entering the sea.

A highlight of the year was welcoming the historic research vessel Western Flyer, dedicated to science and marine exploration. Students had the opportunity to sail aboard, participate in onboard experiments, and learn about the remarkable biodiversity of the Sea of Cortez. Researchers shared their knowledge with the broader community, inspiring both youth and adults to deepen their commitment to protecting Loreto’s natural heritage. We strengthened scientific and educational collaboration by hosting conferences during the Cielo Mágico Festival, providing telescopes for community astronomical observation, and welcoming students and representatives from Notre Dame University, UC Davis, and Utah State University. These exchanges helped advance research and foster long-term academic partnerships in Loreto.

In addition, Eco-Alianza maintained active participation in municipal and federal councils and committees, including the Water Advisory Council and the Bahía de Loreto National Park Advisory Council. We also promoted the adoption of Estero Las Garzas Beach, reaffirming our long-term commitment to its conservation and ongoing care. Every one of these achievements is possible because of you—our donors, partners, collaborators, volunteers, and the Loreto community. Your belief in environmental stewardship and your generous support allow us to continue building, together, a healthier and more prosperous future for Loreto.
